Peran Keluarga terhadap Upaya Pencegahan dan Penanganan Awal ISPA Bukan Pneumonia pada Anak Usia Balita

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections are among the most common health problems experienced by children under five, with incidence rates tending to increase year by year. This study aims to determine the role of families in addressing ARI (not pneumonia) in children under five. The study uses a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach, targeting mothers with children under five who brought their children to Bantul II Community Health Center due to ARI (not pneumonia). Sampling was carried out purposively with a total of 60 participants. Data collection was done using questionnaires and analyzed univariately. The results showed that 70% (42 respondents) played a positive role in managing ARI (not pneumonia) in children under five, specifically in managing fever, 86% (52 respondents) for cough, 80% (48 respondents) for airway obstruction, 86% (52 respondents) for nutrition provision, 100% (60 respondents) for fluid administration, 100% (60 respondents) for monitoring disease progression, and 97% (58 respondents) knew how to seek help at health service facilities. Based on these results, it can be concluded that most families play a positive role in managing ARI (not pneumonia) in children under five at home.
